2027: Delta APC stakeholders Adopts Ossai As Party Sole Candidate for Reps ticket
Leaders and stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ndokwa/Ukwuani Federal Constituency of Delta State on Monday adopted Ossai Nicholas Ossai as the party’s sole candidate for the 2027 House of Representatives election, during a meeting held in Obiaruku with representatives from all 30 wards in attendance.
The decision followed deliberations among party leaders, who signalled a consensus on the need to present an experienced candidate for the seat.
Speakers at the meeting described Ossai as a credible and strategic choice, pointing to his legislative experience and track record.
A former three-term member of the House of Representatives, they said he is positioned to secure a place in the leadership structure of the chamber and improve the constituency’s visibility and access to federal opportunities.
They also cited his past performance, including constituency projects, contributions to lawmaking and advocacy for the development of Ndokwa/Ukwuani communities.
According to them, his return to the National Assembly would strengthen representation and support development in the area.
The adoption was endorsed by ward leaders, youth groups and women’s organisations, who pledged support for his candidacy.
In his acceptance speech, Ossai thanked party leaders and constituents for the endorsement and pledged inclusive and effective representation.
“This endorsement is both humbling and motivating. I remain committed to justifying this trust through effective representation, strategic engagement and the delivery of tangible dividends of democracy,” he said.
He listed priority areas to include the step-down of the Okpai Independent Power Plant in Kwale, development of a teaching hospital for the Federal University of Medical and Health Sciences, Kwale, and infrastructure projects across the constituency, alongside human capital development initiatives.
Ossai also called on party members to support the re-election bids of Bola Tinubu and Sheriff Oborevwori, describing their administrations as key to ongoing development efforts.
The meeting ended with a call for party unity ahead of the 2027 general elections.
