DICKSON HOSTS OBI, KWANKWASO IN STRATEGY MEETING, RALLIES NDC FOR 2027 CAMPAIGNS

Party leadership says unity and grassroots mobilization will drive nationwide push

ABUJA — The Founder and National Leader of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, Senator Henry Seriake Dickson, has hosted the party’s presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Gregory Obi, and his running mate, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, for a high-level strategy meeting ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The consultative meeting, held on Wednesday, brought together the NDC’s top leadership to review the state of the party, strengthen internal coordination, and fine-tune campaign plans ahead of the official commencement of nationwide campaigns expected later this month.

Speaking after the meeting, Senator Dickson described the engagement as productive and said the party was well positioned for the polls.

“It was a pleasure to host our presidential candidate, His Excellency Peter Gregory Obi, CON, and his running mate, His Excellency Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, CON, by the grace of God, the next President and Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, to discuss the positive state of affairs of our party and prepare for the forthcoming campaigns,” he said.

The former Bayelsa State Governor urged members, supporters, and stakeholders of the NDC to remain united and focused on the goal of securing victory for the party at all levels.

He said unity, discipline, and grassroots mobilization would remain the foundation of the NDC’s campaign strategy, as the party pushes a message centered on accountable leadership, national development, and democratic governance.

The meeting is being viewed as a key step in the NDC’s effort to consolidate its structures and position the party for a vigorous nationwide campaign as political activities intensify ahead of 2027.

Senator Dickson, Mr. Obi, and Senator Kwankwaso have, on separate occasions, maintained that the 2027 elections must reflect the genuine will of Nigerians. The three leaders warned that there would be no room for electoral manipulation or the use of state institutions to subvert the will of the people, adding that any attempt to rig the elections would prove futile.

With campaigns set to begin later this month, the NDC leadership said it remains committed to building a united, disciplined, and people-driven movement capable of delivering credible leadership.
