NNUl Hosts Aniocha-Oshimili Elders Association, Pledges Stronger Collaboration for Delta North Unity

KWALE— The apex socio-cultural body of the Ndokwa Ethnic Nationality, the Ndokwa Neku Union (NNU), on Thursday, August 13, 2026, played host to the leadership of the Aniocha-Oshimili Elders Association, popularly known as _Izu Ikei_, at its National Headquarters, Ndokwa House, Kwale, Delta State.

The courtesy visit was led by the President of Izu Ikei, Prince Clement Okonjo, and received by the NNU President General, Comrade Chief Amechi Asugwuni, alongside members of the NNU National Executive Council.In his address, Prince Okonjo expressed appreciation for the warm reception accorded to the delegation.

He said the purpose of the visit was to foster collaboration between both ethnic nationalities, stressing that “Ndokwa and Aniocha-Oshimili are one.”The Izu Ikei President also highlighted some of the common challenges facing Ndokwa and Aniocha-Oshimili communities and called for joint efforts to address them for the good of the people.

Responding, the NNU President General, Comrade Chief Asugwuni, thanked the Aniocha-Oshimili elders for the historic visit.

He assured them of NNU’s readiness to partner in any initiative that would promote unity and accelerate development not only between Ndokwa and Aniocha-Oshimili, but across the entire Delta North Senatorial District.

Both leaderships described the meeting as strategic and timely. They urged for more sustained engagements aimed at strengthening ties, preserving cultural values, and advancing the collective interests of Delta North.The meeting ended with a renewed commitment to unity, mutual support, and collaboration for regional development.
