Umuola Community Commends Eze Dr. Promise Chike for Rehabilitating Primary Health Centre
Facility, abandoned for over 30 years, now 75% complete

The people of Umuola Town in Etche Local Government Area of Rivers State have expressed appreciation to Eze Dr. Promise Chike, Eze Chimereugo I of Etche Ethnic Nationality, for his intervention in the rehabilitation of the Rivers State Government Primary Health Care Centre, Umuola.
The health centre, which had remained in a deplorable condition for more than 30 years, is now undergoing major rehabilitation and has taken on a new look.
Speaking at the project site on Tuesday, the CDC Chairman, Mr. George Michael, commended Eze Dr. Chike for responding to the community’s long-standing healthcare needs.
“The completed facility will not only serve Umuola but also neighbouring communities and other residents who use this area,” Mr. Michael said.
He also appealed to the Federal and Rivers State Governments, relevant agencies, and other stakeholders to support the community with additional projects and services.
Traditional chiefs, opinion leaders, women and youths of Umuola also described the intervention as a welcome development. They offered prayers for God’s continued blessings, protection, strength and provision for Eze Dr. Promise Chike and his family.
Project at 75% Completion
As of Tuesday, August 25, 2026, work on the health centre was estimated at about 75 percent completion. Ongoing works include:
- Plastering and flooring
- Roofing and ceiling installation
- Block moulding
- Perimeter fencing
Some doors and fittings have already been installed, while finishing works continue.
The community also acknowledged the Rivers State Primary Health Care Board and the Ministry of Health for their interest in commencing operations at the facility as soon as possible. Residents pledged to provide the necessary support and peaceful atmosphere for the delivery of adequate healthcare services at the grassroots.
The people of Umuola reiterated their gratitude to Eze Dr. Promise Chike and called for continued support toward the completion and effective operation of the health centre.
