Hundreds of sympathizers and the Wukari community gathered to honour the life and times of Atsi Kefas, the younger sister of Taraba State Governor Dr Agbu Kefas, in a heartfelt memorial service and interment on December 17, 2024.
Atsi Kefas passed away on December 9, 2024, in Abuja, leaving behind cherished memories and contributions to her society. She was laid to rest in her hometown of Wukari, where family members, friends, and dignitaries came together to pay their respects and celebrate her life.
During the service, Pastor Thomas Fachano from the Better City Church of God in Abuja shared an uplifting message, drawing from Revelation 21:3-4. He spoke about the inevitability of death, emphasizing that it transcends one’s social status, beliefs, and background. He reminded attendees that while physical death is a universal experience, spiritual life through Jesus Christ provides hope beyond the grave.
Pastor Fachano encouraged the congregation to reflect on their own lives and strive to live in alignment with God’s principles, reminding them of the importance of faith in navigating the challenges of life.
Family and friends shared touching tributes and personal stories that highlighted the warmth and kindness of Atsi Kefas. Born on July 10, 1980, in Wukari to Manu Kefas Atewunu and Mrs. Jummai Esther Kefas, she was a dedicated individual who pursued her education with passion.
Atsi began her schooling at Ebenezer Primary School and continued at Marmara Government Girls Secondary School, eventually earning a diploma in Public Administration from Taraba State Polytechnic and a Bachelor of Science in Criminology and Security Studies from Kwararafa University, Wukari. At the time of her passing, she was advancing her education further with a Master’s degree at Taraba State University in Jalingo.
Her legacy will live on in the hearts of those she touched throughout her life and the positive impact she made in her community.
