The Nasarawa State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Gaza Gwamna, has been conferred with the traditional title of Gbaknu-Yako of Yelwa Chiefdom by His Royal Highness, Mr. Musa Abu Shekwo, the Osu of Yelwa.

The prestigious title, Gbaknu-Yako, is reserved for individuals of exceptional courage and dedication to the development of the Chiefdom.

While turbaning the commissioner, the Osu Yelwa emphasized that the “Gbaknu-Yako” title is reserved for individuals from the Chiefdom who have demonstrated bravery in safeguarding the community and have provided impactful solutions to its developmental issue.

In his remarks during the turbaning ceremony, Dr. Gwamna expressed deep gratitude to the Osu of Yelwa and appreciated the presence of dignitaries who came to support and celebrate with him. He reaffirmed his commitment to advancing public health and improving the welfare of the people of the State.

The event also saw the conferment of traditional titles on other prominent figures. The Secretary to the Government of Nasarawa State, Barrister Labaran Shuaibu Magaji (PhD), was honoured as Dobwi Yako (Ajiya) of Yelwa, while the Chairman of the Nasarawa State All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Aliyu Bello, was turbaned as Chiroman Yelwa.

The ceremony brought together an esteemed group of dignitaries ranging from government officials and community leaders to health advocates to honour individuals for their impactful contributions to the state. Among the notable attendees were Hon. Zephaniah B. Jisalo, Minister for Special Duties; Prof. Abdulkarim Kana, APC National Legal Adviser; Dr. Faisal Shuaibu, former NPHCDA Executive Secretary; and several state commissioners and advisers amongst others.
