Nasarawa state, a melting pot of cultures in North Central Nigeria, is bracing itself for the 2027 governorship election. With its capital in Lafia, the state boasts a rich history of peaceful coexistence among diverse ethnic groups, including Mada, Beriberi, Hausa, and many others. This harmony has fostered a cordial political atmosphere, with past governors hailing from different senatorial districts.

Traditionally, the governorship position has been rotated among the three senatorial districts, ensuring representation and balance. With Nasarawa West having had their turn, the spotlight is now on the other districts. Karu Stake Holders are making a strong case for Karu LGA’s chance, throwing their weight behind Rt. Hon. Jonathan Gaza Gbefwi as their candidate.

Gbefwi, a seasoned federal representative, has earned accolades for his quality representation, delivering projects like road construction, water boreholes, and school renovations in Kokona, Keffi, and Karu LGA. His commitment to development and unity has resonated with his constituents, making him a strong contender for the governorship seat.

As politicking intensifies, the big question remains: will Karu LGA’s turn come in 2027, or will another district stake its claim?
