Members of the Lagos State house of Assembly have summoned the chief of staff to the governor, Tayo Ayinde commissioner for Economic Planning and budget and that of special duties, including the management of the Lagos State Security trust fund over the whereabouts of the 3 helicopters belonging to the state government.

While raising the issue under matters of public importance the Chief whip of the Assembly, Hon. Mojisola Miranda said that the ministries, departments and agencies in charge of the helicopters and the Assembly ought to be aware of the agreement.
Hon. Miranda said that the house passed a bill in 2017 for the state’s security trust fund to equip and strengthen the security agencies in the state. In his own comment, the speaker of the house, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa pointed out that the helicopters were purchased by the Ambode government for both security and commercial purchases. He also emphasized that Assembly must know what has accrued to the state, while Hon. Rotimi Olowo said that the Assembly also approved the purchase of (2) helicopters during the reign of Governor Raji Fashola.

Other lawmakers such as Fatai Mojeed and Abiodum Tobun said that the helicopters should be at the reach of the state for security purposes, probity, accountability and revenue from the equipment should reflect in the account books of the state
