Kanti Bello’s Stakeholders Move To Revive Political Structure In Katsina

Stakeholders of the political movement founded by the late Senator Mahmud Kanti Bello have initiated moves to revive and reposition the once formidable structure in Katsina State.

The renewed effort was unveiled during a strategic meeting held at the residence of the late politician, convened by his son and current leader of the group, Engr. Mustapha Kanti Bello.

The gathering drew coordinators and loyalists from across the state’s local government areas, alongside key figures within the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Addressing participants, Bello said the initiative was aimed at rebuilding the structure established by his late father, which he described as one of the most influential grassroots political networks in the state during its peak.

He noted that despite the passage of time since the senator’s death, the ideals of integrity, service and loyalty that defined his leadership continue to resonate among followers.

“Our responsibility now is to bring the structure back to life and sustain the legacy he left behind,” Bello said, adding that leadership must be guided by inclusiveness and responsiveness to the people.

As part of the revival strategy, stakeholders resolved to institutionalise regular meetings, with at least two major gatherings annually, to strengthen coordination and unity among members.

The group also agreed to support loyalists seeking elective positions, while mobilising across all local governments in support of Governor Dikko Umar Radda.

In addition, plans were announced to establish a digital communication platform to ensure continuous engagement and information sharing within the structure.

Speaking at the meeting, the national legal adviser of the APC, Murtala Aliyu Kankia, described the move as timely, noting that the structure had experienced setbacks following the death of its founder.

“This gathering is a call to regroup and continue from where the late Kantibello stopped. His leadership qualities were exceptional, and there is a need to sustain that legacy,” he said.

Kankia, however, stressed the importance of collaboration with other political blocs within the party to strengthen the APC’s chances in future elections.

Also contributing, chairman of the State Civil Service Commission, Idris Tune, said the large turnout at short notice reflected the enduring influence of the late senator.

According to him, supporters travelled from different parts of the country to attend the meeting, underscoring the strong bond and loyalty he built over the years.

The stakeholders expressed optimism that with renewed commitment and collective effort, the structure would regain its strength and relevance in the political landscape of Katsina State.
