The Chairman, Nigeria–South Korea Parliamentary Friendship Group, Hon. Nnamdi Ezechi, on Friday, 7th November 2025, joined the Government and people of the Republic of Korea to celebrate the 2025 Korean National Day held at the Ballroom, Ladi Kwali Conference Centre, Abuja Continental Hotel.
The colourful event, which featured a rich display of Korean culture and tradition, was hosted by Mr. Tak Namgung, Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Nigeria. It brought together top government officials, members of the diplomatic corps, parliamentarians, business leaders, and representatives of the Korean community in Nigeria.
Speaking on behalf of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, PhD, and in his capacity as Chairman of the Nigeria–South Korea Parliamentary Friendship Group, Hon. Ezechi congratulated the Government and people of the Republic of Korea on the occasion of their National Day.
In his remarks, he described the Republic of Korea as a nation of vision, innovation, and resilience, whose remarkable transformation over the decades stands as a model for developing nations like Nigeria. He further commended the strong and growing ties between both countries, particularly in areas of trade, technology, education, and energy cooperation.
Hon. Ezechi reiterated the National Assembly’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations between Nigeria and South Korea through strategic legislative engagements and parliamentary diplomacy, noting that such cooperation would enhance mutual growth and development.
He also applauded Mr. Tak Namgung and the entire Korean diplomatic team for their continuous efforts in deepening friendship between both nations, while calling for greater collaboration in industrial innovation and vocational training to empower Nigerian youths.
The event featured a Korean cultural performance, reception, and networking session that highlighted the rich heritage and global influence of the Korean people.
