NELFUND EXTENDS APPLICATION DEADLINE FOR 2025/2026 ACADEMIC SESSION TO FEBRUARY 27, 2026

The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has announced an extension of the application deadline for the 2025/2026 academic session from 31 January to 27 February 2026.

According to NELFUND, the extension is to provide additional opportunity for prospective applicants who are yet to apply or complete their applications to submit all required information on or before 27 February 2026.

In view of this development, the Delta State Government urges all eligible students of Delta State origin in higher institutions across Nigeria to take advantage of the extended deadline and apply free of charge via the official NELFUND portal at https://nelf.gov.ng by clicking on “Apply Now.”

Steps to Apply for NELFUND 2025/2026:

Registration: Visit https://nelf.gov.ng and click on “Apply Now” to create an account using a valid email address.

Verification: Verify your identity and student status using your NIN, BVN, and JAMB registration number.

Educational Details: Enter your institution and matriculation number (or Admission/JAMB number for fresh students) and complete institutional verification.

Loan Request: Select the type of loan required (Institutional Fees and/or Upkeep Allowance).

Documentation: Upload your admission letter. Submission: Review and submit your application. Applicants can track their application status on the portal.

The NELFUND programme aligns with the vision of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori to ensure access to qualitative education, and equal opportunities for all Deltans, as encapsulated in the Renewed Hope for MORE Agenda.

The Delta State Government wishes all Delta State students in higher institutions across Nigeria success in their applications.
