DANCO HAIL GOV. MONDAY OKPEBOLO OVER GRASSROOT INFRASTRUCTURAL STRIDES

The Member Representing Etsako Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, Hon. Anamero Sunday Dekeri, (DANCO) has commended the Governor of Edo State, Monday Okpebolo, for his focus and commitment to grassroot infrastructural development.
The lawmaker, who expressed satisfaction with the recent distribution of heavy duty haulage and construction vehicles to all local government across the state, described the action of the Governor as a strategic investment in grassroots infrastructure delivery.
He tasked all the council Chairmen in Etsako Federal Constituency to put the equipment to immediate and accountable use in order to give value to the state government investment at the grassroot level. He urged them to also take advantage of the dry season to demonstrate their passion and willingness in doing the bidding of the masses.
Hon. Dekeri expressed his determination to embark on a tour across the local Government Councils within the Etsako Federal Constituency to oversight the effective utilization of the equipment as part of his responsibility in ensuring that governance at the grassroot is not abandon. He appeals to Councillors to adhere to the Legislative standard of oversight function by ensuring that the expectation of the Governor from the investment is fully achieve. He further called on all Local Government Council Chairmen to effectively deploy the recently distributed Infrastructural equipment through collaboration with community leaders in tackling community development infrastructural challenges.
“You are all duty bound to significantly accelerate routine and emergency road works, drainage clearing to control erosion and other critical civil works that directly affect the daily lives of the masses,”
While thanking the Governor for operating a bottom up administration, he lamented that the absence of these locally available haulage and construction equipment in previous years in councils, hampered grassroots development in several ways, with higher burden on Councils. The recent action of the Governor, he said, has eliminated issues of delay in construction work with high cost, as councils don’t have to wait anymore for private Contractors or Haulage services providers which usually cause delay with inflated cost for road repairs.
Hon. Dekeri who spoke in a statement issued today in Abuja through his media Aide, called for a transparent deployment plan of the equipment through regular maintenance schedules, and public reporting of works carried out with the equipment. He also expressed the need for community monitoring team to ensure that the vehicles are used for bona fide public works and not for non-public purposes. He reiterated his commitment as a representative of the people of Etsako Federal Constituency to support policies and oversight measures that turn state investments into durable improvements across Etsako communities.
