UK Faculty of Public Health Confers Prestigious Fellowship (FFPH) on Nasarawa Health Commissioner
The Nasarawa State Honourable Commissioner for Health, Dr. Gaza Gwamna, has been elected to the prestigious Fellowship through Distinction of the Faculty of Public Health in the United Kingdom, one of the leading professional bodies for public health specialists globally.
In a formal letter conveying the honour, the President of the Faculty, Professor Tracy Daszkiewicz, announced that Dr. Gaza Gwamna was elected in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the science, literature, and practice of public health.
The Fellowship, which confers the post-nominal title FFPH (Fellow of the Faculty of Public Health), is reserved for individuals who have distinguished themselves through exceptional leadership and significant impact in advancing public health.
According to the Faculty, the award will be formally announced at its Awards Ceremony scheduled to hold in London on 15 June 2026, where Dr. Gwamna will be officially admitted into the Fellowship.
The Faculty of Public Health serves as the professional standards and membership body for public health specialists, with over 6,000 members across the United Kingdom and internationally, working to improve and protect population health while influencing public health policy.
Dr. Gaza Gwamna’s recognition reflects the growing international acknowledgement of the progress and reforms being implemented in the health sector in Nasarawa State.
