NZETE HOSTS NDOKWA WOMEN IN POLITICS, PLEDGES GREATER INCLUSION IN NDOKWA WEST

The Executive Chairman of Ndokwa West Local Government Area, Hon. (Chief) Dr. Goddey Obi Nzete, JP, on receiving leaders of Ndokwa Women in Politics at the Council Secretariat in Kwale, reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to women’s inclusion and empowerment in governance.

Welcoming the delegation, Nzete described the visit as a reflection of the growing role women play in strengthening democracy and political development in Ndokwa Nation. He commended the group for its work in political enlightenment and grassroots mobilisation.

“The increasing participation of Ndokwa women in politics is encouraging and deserves the support of political leaders,” the Chairman said. He also lauded Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, for sustaining policies that promote women’s inclusion through appointments to strategic positions in government, and urged that the same be replicated at the local government level.

Highlighting his administration’s achievements, Chief Nzete pointed to ongoing infrastructural projects across Ndokwa West, including the construction of a modern legislative complex and a state-of-the-art cottage hospital with doctors’ and nurses’ quarters. He attributed the improved pace of development to the economic reforms of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, which he said have strengthened the financial capacity of states and local governments to deliver people-oriented projects.

Speaking on behalf of the group, Barr. Omude Ochonogor applauded Nzete’s developmental strides and called for more opportunities for women to participate actively in governance before, during, and after elections. She further advocated increased investment in women’s education, protection of women’s rights, financial empowerment, and the creation of an enabling environment for women to contribute meaningfully to society.

The high point of the visit was the investiture of Chairman Nzete as Patron of Ndokwa Women in Politics, in recognition of his support for women’s advancement and contributions to the development of Ndokwa Nation.

In his acceptance remarks, Nzete expressed gratitude for the honour and assured the group that plans are already underway to empower women across all wards in Ndokwa West.

“My administration remains committed to initiatives that promote the welfare, advancement, and active participation of women in governance and community development,” he pledged.

The event was attended by the Vice Chairman of Ndokwa West LGA, Mrs. Margaret Anowu, the Secretary to the Local Government, the Supervisor for Health, and other government stakeholders.
