The Sultan of Sokoto Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar CFR, Mni has commended His Royal Highness Alhaji Mujahid Dokubo Asari Dabaye Amakiri I, Amayanabo of Torusarama Piri (Elem-Kalabari) for his tremendous efforts in challenging insecurity in Northern Nigeria and restoring peace and security. In a bid to commend his efforts, he was nominated for a Traditional Title.

Emissaries of the Sultan in a delegation led by Alhaji Yunusa Musa Sokoto paid the Monarch a courtesy visit at his Palace in Torusarama Piri (Elem-Kalabari) to convey the decision of the Sultan to bestow a Traditional Title on Da Amachree Ekpeke in the forthcoming 18th Anniversary of the Coronation of the Sultan.

Amongst the Delegation is the Dan Galadima of Sokoto Alhaji Nuhu Lamido who conveyed the gratitude of the Sultan saying that:

” Northern Nigeria is Grateful to You (HRH Alhaji Mujahid Dokubo Asari) for the restoration of Peace in Our Land”

He went further to say that everybody in Nigeria knows who His Royal Highness Alhaji Mujahid Dokubo Asari is and that they were greatly delighted when they received the news of his elevation as a traditional ruler in Rivers State. Equally thanking him in their words for all the good things he is doing for humanity in Nigeria.

The Delegation recounted how difficult life was in most parts of Northern Nigeria as a result of imsecurity before the intervention of His Royal Highness Alhaji Mujahid Dokubo Asari Dabaye Amakiri I through his partnership with the Federal Government led by President Muhamnadu Buhari which has transitioned to now President (Sen.) Ahmed Bola Timubu.

Furthermore, the Delegation said that the consent of the Amayanabo of Torusarama Piri is needed before such revered title will be conferred on him. In his remark, His Royal Highness Alhaji Mujahid Dokubo Asari Dabaye Amakiri I, Da Amachree Tubo and Da Amachree Ekpeke thanked the Delegation for coming all the way to Torusarama Piri to convey the news of his nomination. Recall that the Sultan and HRH Alhaji Mujahid Dokubo Asari has served as both Chairman and Vice Chairman of the National Muslims Pilgrims Board.

However, Da Amachree Tubo after thanking the Sultan of Sokoto for his friendship and graciousness but declined being awarded a traditional title on, reason that he is now seating on the stool of his forefathers as such would not need any other traditional title. Nevertheless, he assured the Sultan of his presence during the ceremony and that there would be continued collaboration between the Kalabari Kingdom and the North.
