Major General Emmanuel Ejim-Emekah the General Officer Commanding 6th Division of the Nigerian Army pays the Amayanabo of Torusarama Piri (Elem-Kalabari) His Royal Highness Alhaji Mujahid Dokubo Asari Dabaye Amakiri I a courtesy visit.

The GOC explained that his visit is for strategic partnership to enthrone peace and stability in the Niger Delta within his division and to ensure that Traditional Rulers who are the first step of survellance and security in their various Kingdoms gets the necessary backups they deserve.

He congested His Royal Highness on his elevation as a traditional ruler in the State while endearing the Monarch to continue his efforts in ensuring peace and security within the Kalabari Kingdom and the Niger Delta at large noting that his pedigree serves a very strategic purpose in this challenging period.

Responding to the GOC, the Amayanabo of Torusarama Piri impressed the fact that his visit to his residence at Obuama in Degema Local Government Area of Rivers State is indeed patriotic and that given his capacity and experience in the security sector as well as being part those pursuing security stability in Nigeria, that the Military comprising the Army, Airforce and Navy are suppose to have a string bond with him so that together they can deliver on the ideals of security for the benefits of the people of Nigeria.

His Royal Highness reaffirmed he support for the Military in maintaining peace and security throughout Nigeria while making known his own efforts to stop bunkering activities across Kalabari Kingdom and other parts of the Niger Delta because it is inimical to our environment as such it has a harzadous impact on life expectancy of the people.

He called on the Nigerian Military begining with the Nigerian Army to do everything possible to hold oil multinationals for environmental pollution occassioned by harmful practices via exploration and producing of oil and gas especially because of their neglect of communities during oil spill citing the two months long spill from a wellhead explosion in OML 18.

The Royal Father described such neglect as a reckless lack of care for the people of the areas as such amounts to a failure of leadership and corporate discipline and responsibility as such there should be legal as well as social consequences from the authorities responsible for checkmating the excesses of corporate organizations and ensuring that they adhere to best practice.

Da Amachree Tubo asked the GOC to build synergy amongst other security agencies to frustrate environmental degradation caused by the loading of crude oil along the Cawthorne Channel because it has greatly polluted the waterways and affected marine lives massively thereby frustrating the means of livelihood of his people.
