The Agadagba/Paramount Ruler of Arogbo-Ijaw Ibe (Kingdom), His Imperial Majesty, Pere Zacchaeus Doubra Egbunu Esq., (JP, FCAI, LL.M) Opukutu III, Receives Commissioner of Police, Ondo State, CP Wilfred Olatokunbo Afolabi in his Palace on Wednesday, 5th of February, 2025, signalling a significant moment for the Kingdom. This strategic visit was to strengthen ties with stakeholders of the communities, fostering and deepening a sense of trust and collaborative strategies in tackling security challenges.

Riverine and coastal settlements have peculiar security issues as dictated by the deltaic nature, such as creeks, rivers and lagoons. The peculiarities of this region as it affects security issues primarily informed the visit. Their discussion centred on collaborative effects in addressing security challenges, enhancing community policing, and promoting sustainable development as well as peaceful co-existence.

In the course of their discussion, quality time was spent in x-raying the community’s needs, concerns, and commensurate security solutions. The Ondo Police Boss promised to offer effective strategies to support the riverine and coastal settlements.

The Agadagba, while expressing his gratitude hailed the Police Commissioner for paying special attention to community-oriented policing, where law enforcement agencies work closely with stakeholders in the comments in building crime free societies. The Monarch further revealed that, the visit of the Police Commissioner is first of its kind since his coronation as the King. The Paramount Ruler however pledged and reiterated his commitment to serving and protecting the community through collaborative means.
