SABER: Governor Sule distributes utility vehicles to key business related agencies

Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has distrubuted five Hilux vehicles to three agencies playing key roles under the State Action on Business Enabling Reforms (SABER), a World Bank assisted programme.

Governor Sule distributed the vehicles during a brief ceremony at the Government House on Wednesday.

Governor Sule identified the Nasarawa Geographic Information Service (NAGIS), Nasarawa Investment Development Agency (NASIDA) and security agencies as beneficiaries of the vehicles because of the key roles these agencies play in attracting investment into the state.

“These vehicles are coming as a result of the intervention by the World Bank through SABER. This is an intervention that came solely to support Nasarawa State to continue to attract investment into the state and to attract new businesses into the state.

“That is the reason why those identified to benefit from this gesture continue to be NAGIS because NAGIS is in charge of everything that has to do with land administration. NASIDA continues to promote the businesses and enter into new relationships. Finally, the security agencies that continue to provide the cover and the enabling atmosphere for the state,” he said.

He said his administration is determined to utilize the intervention from the World Bank in line with the stipulated guidelines.

The Governor thereafter, handed over the vehicles to the representatives of NAGIS, NASIDA and the security agencies.

Recall that the SABER programme is a 3-year performance-based intervention jointly designed by the World Bank technical team and the Federal Government to incentivize and strengthen the implementation of business-enabling reforms across Nigeria through incentives, primarily through results-based financing to the states.
