RT HON CHIKE OLEMGBE. WHEN QUALITATIVE PERFORMANCE, BECOMES A PROBLEM TO THE OPPOSITION.

Rt Honourable Chike Olemgbe is the house member, representing the good people of Ihitte Uboma at the Imo State House of Assembly, and by divine Providence, the Speaker of the Imo tenth Assembly. He was elected Speaker by the twenty seven members of the Imo State House of Assembly as their Speaker. Since 1999 till date, Rt. Honourable Chike Olemgbe, remains the only Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly, who has developed a new Legislative Leadership philosophy that has brought the Executive and the Legislative arms of government into a mutual leadership alignment that is centered on infrastructural growth and development in Imo State. The political association between the Executive and the Legislative arms of government in Imo State, has no doubt brought massive infrastructural development in Imo State. The governor of Imo State has before now commended the members of the Imo tenth Assembly, ably led by Rt Honourable Chike Olemgbe, a young Leader with an Aristocratic background for being the reason for his success story. It’s quite interesting to note that the Executive Governor of Imo State, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodinma has recently received an Award from the Guardian News paper company, as the best performing Governor of the year 2025. Before now, he has also received an Award as the best infrastructure Governor of the year, within the two years period Rt Honourable Chike Olemgbe became the Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly. What an excellent working relationship, what a positive change in leadership dynamics between the Executive and Legislative arms of government which is centered on the wholistic infrastructural transformation in Imo State. With out the harmonious working relationship between the Executive and the Legislative arms of governments in Imo State, this great and Noble achievement’s by the Executive arm of government should not have been possible. To day in Imo State, the excellent performance of the APC led administration in Imo State which is centered on prudent management of resources and infrastructural Development, is to day, making the opposition uncomfortable. Seeing that the wonderful performance of the Executive arm of government in Imo State is centered on the mutual and harmonious working relationship between the Executive and Legislative arms of government in Imo State, the opposition, is trying everything possible in making sure that they find fault that will frustrate the success story going on in Imo State in a time like now. The role of the Legislature in a democracy is to make laws, based on the peculiarities of their environment in order to enable the Executive , respond to those needs as approved by act of parliament. To the best of my knowledge, no Legislature all over the world is being accused of non project implementation. No Legislature in a democracy has been accused of not building roads or hospital. These are the responsibility of the Executive arm of government which is within the purview of the Governor of the State, and the Local Government Chairmen. Legislatures, based on their oversight function, can attract projects to members of their constituents, but can not be held accountable in Law for not doing it. A legislatures overnight function remains his prerogative and cannot be questioned in law. All that a Legislature needs from members of his constituent is appreciation and encouragement to do more.
