FUPRE-CSD Hail Tinubu, Congratulates Members of the South-South Development Commission (SSDC) Governing Board.

The Federal University of Petroleum Resources-Centre for Sustainable Development (FUPRE-CSD) Effurun,Delta State has praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s selection of nominees for the South-South Development Commission (SSDC), describing them as an excellent choice. FUPRE-CSD looks forward to deepening collaboration with the various commissions to ensure sustainable development practices across the South-South Region.

In a congratulatory message signed by the Director of the Centre for Sustainable Development Dr. Emeka Elemike and the Deputy Director/External Partnership Liaison Dcn. Okezi Odugala reads “On behalf of the Federal University of Petroleum Resources-Center for Sustainable Development,Effurun Delta State, we congratulate the Chairman and members of the South-South Development Commission as your appointments is a recognition of exemplary character in spearheading the much needed sustainable development and friendly environment in the region.”

Mr. Benjamin Atu, the Head of Media and Public Enlightenment at FUPRE-CSD, described the SSDC Chairman, Mr. Chibudom Nwuche, as a man of class, character, and visionary leadership.

“Your great experience, skills and advocacy to tackle today’s challenges has made you the right choice, shattering the glass ceiling to become the pioneer Chairman. Your appointment is an assurance of a first class leadership to achieve the Niger Delta of our dream with shared prosperity as we look forward to our collaboration”

We also acknowledged Miss Usoro Offiong Akpabio, Managing Director/CEO, for breaking a thick glass ceiling to become the commission’s first female CEO, as well as all members of the commission, as we have high regard for your pedigree, impeccable credentials, intellectual depth, and robust experience.

While assuring them of maximum support and readiness to accelerate their goals, the statement also encourages them to join the advocacy crusade against unsustainable practices by promoting sustainable development that seeks to balance economic, social, and environmental needs, ensuring a livable environment for future generations while meeting public expectations.

“FUPRE-CSD is prepared to provide the necessary manpower training and research engagement in support of the commission’s goal of developing a self-sustaining Niger Delta Region in which human-made progress is not washed away by unwholesome environmental practices. We look forward to collaborating with the Commission to advance the implementation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (Agenda 2030) and the African Union Agenda on Sustainable Development (Agenda 2063) through inclusive growth and human resource development.” the statement added.
