Our 11 years deal with “Star Times” was a flop – DG NTA tells senate.
The Director General of Nigerian Television Authority, NTA, Mallam Yakubu Ibr Mohammed has made a shocking revelation that his organization 11 year deal with the STAR TIMES did not yield any revenue.
Malam Mohammed told the senate joint committee on Finance and National Planning at a stakeholder’s interactive session on the 2021-2023 MTEF/FSP organized by the senate committee on Finance and National Planning.
According to Malam Mohammed, the management of the Federal government owned TV station entered into a partnership media firm, Beijing star group in 2018 and it became operational in 2019 about 11 years ago, but declared that the business was a huge loss to the nation. The senate committee therefore queried the wrong act and said that it would investigate the agreement and tasked the NTA body to come along with their management account.
