NUC grants BMU 100 per cent accreditation in October/November 2024 Exercise

Bayelsa Medical University (BMU) has recorded a 100% accreditation success in the October/November 2024 Accreditation Exercise conducted for seven programmes by the National Universities Commission (NUC).

All seven programmes presented by the University received either full or interim accreditation.

This programs presented for accreditation include Public Health – full accreditation,
Community Health – full accreditation,
Medical Laboratory Science – full accreditation and Nursing – Full accreditation.

Others are Physiotherapy; interim accreditation, Optometry; interim accreditation and Human Nutrition and Dietetics; Interim accreditation. All these have two years of accreditation.

The recognition by the National University Council (NUC) is a clear acknowledgment of the Bayelsa Medical University as a rising hub of academic innovation, particularly in health sciences.

Kudos to the Prosperity Administration for improving facilities in the institution as part of requirements for the accreditation exercise.
