Chairman of the Opuokede Creek Rural Development Authority in Bayelsa State, Hon. Ebiowei Miller has sued for calm in Norgbene Community over an attack on men of the Tantita Security Outfit by yet to be identified persons that left one dead and another injured.
Describing the attack as most unfortunate and gruesome, the Opuokede Creek RDA Chairman, Hon. Miller condemned it and assured that governor and Security Agents are working hard to ensure that perpetrators of the dastardly act are brought to justice.
Hon. Miller, who spoke with newsmen on the ugly incident, said the Governor Douye Diri-led Prosperity Administration places a high premium on the security of lives and property of Bayelsans and residents and will therefore not allow anyone to disrupt the hard-earned peace being enjoyed across the State.
He expressed worry that rather than work with men of the Tantita Security Outfit to protect critical national assets and stop the menace of oil bunkering, mischief makers could attack them.
Hon. Ebiowei Miller appealed to members of the Norgbene Community and neighbouring communities to cooperate with security agents in ensuring arrest of those behind the attack.
He however urged men of the Tantita Security Outfit not to engage in reprisal attack but to collaborate with the Nigeria Police Force and other state security agents to professionally investigate and arrest the culprits.
