A renowned community leader in Okpanam, Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State, Chief Chibeze Pino Aniemeka has described late Major Augustine Azubuogo.as a quintessential military officer, whose contributions for the unity of Nigeria and his Okpanam community development was commendable.

Chief Aniemeka, an Engineer by profession and also known as the Egbe beli Ugo ebeli 1 of Okpanam Kingdom stated this in Okpanam while speaking with newsmen after the burial ceremony of an iconic military officer, that passed away at the age of 83 years.

He stated that he was an adopted son of Ogbueshi Azubuogo and that in all sincerity he had taken him as his foster father as well because of his integrity, adding that Ogbueshi Azuboguo had caved a nitch for himself having served Nigeria as a nation and Okpanam as a community diligently.

Chief Aniemeka explained that the deceased impacted positively on his life , stressing that he taught him to be truthful, straightforward , honest but bold at all times no matter the situation he found himself.

While recalling that when an individual was truthful, such person was bound to attract enemies at times , Chief Aniemeka stated that he and other well meaning individuals including his friends accompanied him to pay his last rest to the the former Nigerian warlord as part of the family.

He urged the children of late Major Azubuogo (rtd) to sustain the legacy of their father.

Earlier, the chairman of Amachai youth, Comr. Emmanuel Onwudinjo Agala said that Late Major Cyrl Augustine Azubuogo was his uncle being the elder brother to his mother, Mrs. Ositadinma Agala nee Azubuogo.

Comr. Agala said that his uncle was his foster father because his biological father died when he was a week old , emphasizing that late Major Azuboguo. (rtd ) took the responsibility of his well-being .

The Amachai youth chairman advised his children to uphold his integrity, his love for the family and should always be truthful anywhere life took them to , just as he asserted that his uncle was a great man .

On her part, Dr. (Mrs.) Davina Okompunwosa , a friend to the daughter of the septuagenarian , Mrs. Ify Osobase described her friend as a nice person, saying that from what she heard about the deceased he was a very good man as well and told the children to take solace in the fact that their father lived a life worthy of emulation.

In their separate tributes, Engr. Alex Azubuogo, Mr. Ifechukwude Azubuogo , Mr. Ifechukwude Azubuogo his daughter, Dr.(Mrs.) Chukwunonso Ofili among others described their father as a man that had the passion for the upliftment of humanity and his community at large , stating that he was accessible and unassuming personality even as the children pledged to sustain his legacy
