Nigeria Governors’ Forum launches Investopedia to attract funding for states projects.
The Nigeria Governors’ Forum has unveiled a one stop document _ the Investopedia that would guide investors to opportunities of investments that are available across various states of the federation.
The launch which took place at Transcorp Hilton Hotels FCT,Abuja,Tuesday August 19,2025 had in attendance,the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Bassey Eno PhD who was represented by the Permanent Secretary of Akwa Ibom State Liaison Office, Abuja,TPL Aniekan Akpan.
It was a forum which allowed States including Akwa Ibom to showcase their investment potentials to attract investors.
Speaking at the launch, Godwin Ukwat, Executive Director, Akwa Ibom Investment Corporation ( AKICORP), the State Investment Promotion Agency ,noted that Akwa Ibom State, under the pragmatic leadership of His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno, PhD,guided by his Economic Blueprint the ARISE AGENDA has fulfilled a critical requirement for inflow of investment and capital into the different investment zones of the State by providing the three major investment gateways of Air ( Ibom Air) , Roads ( Excellent Network) and Sea ( Ibom Deep Sea Port ) to position the Akwa Ibom State as a strategic investment destination.
He therefore invited investors and capital managers to take advantage of these initiatives to partner with the state to consummate the Ibom Deep Seaport and other key sectors including agriculture and its value chain.
He said Akwa Ibom is ready to engage strong and serious investors in financial closure of investments.
Earlier,In his Keynote address, the Chairman of Nigeria Governors’ Forum , His Excellency,Dr. Abudulrahman Abdulrazag emphasized the critical role that the Investopedia would play in attracting key investors to various states.

Abdulahi Sule said the Investopedia is not just a catalogue but an entry point showing investors not only where to invest in Nigeria but also how to do so with confidence adding that its vision is to position Nigeria ‘s States as a credible, competitive destination for opportunities for millions of investors globally.
The Chairman ,also the Governor of Kwara State,lauded the platform’s sponsors—Afreximbank, UNDP, and the Ministry of Finance Incorporated (MOFI)—for their strategic support and technical expertise.
The Chairman highlighted the roles of the Investopedia’s major sponsors stating that Afreximbank would deploy innovative financial instruments to drive state projects towards accountability and financial closure, UNDP would Support states in building institutional capacity to sustain credible investment pipelines and Ministry of Finance Incorporated (MOFI) would Provide post-launch resources to restore investor confidence and unlock new opportunities.
In his opening speech,the Director General, Nigeria Governors’ Forum Dr. Abdulateef Shittu outlined three key objectives that the document would serve, such as providing simplified access by consolidating credible projects into one gateway, providing confidence through due diligence and transparent presentations opportunities and mobilizing partnership that goes beyond financing to include technical support, capacity building and mitigation.
Investors and development partners delivered goodwill messages, expressing their commitment to support the Nigeria Governors’ Forum’s efforts in promoting investments across the states.
