Founded in 1983 (40years counting), by Sir C.O. Nwaeze, as NEWS (acronym for Nwaeze Electrical Works and Services), the business, from its humble beginnings, primarily engaged in domestic and small office wiring, metamorphosed over the years to what is today known as NEWS Engineering Nigeria Limited. It has grown into a full-fledged engineering company with activities spanning the entire power supply industry in Nigeria, ranging from generation, transmission, and distribution through conventional electricity supply.
In 2002, NEWS Engineering expanded its line when it opened its headquarters and main yard at Dawaki, in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja, where its manufacturing team began producing concrete poles (pre-cast and pre-stressed concrete electric poles) for distribution lines and electric panels, both AC and DC.
