In a significant effort to boost educational development in Nasarawa State, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Education, Hon. Abubakar Idris Adamu, has distributed 13,000 exercise books to students and pupils across the state.
The distribution, which took place on Wednesday at the Conference Hall of the Ministry for Local Government, Community Development and Chieftaincy Affairs in Lafia was aimed at complementing the initiatives of Governor Abdullahi A. Sule’s administration in improving the quality of education in the state.
Speaking during the event, Hon. Idris explained that the initiative was his way of complementing the efforts of Governor Abdullahi A. Sule in raising the standard of education in the state.
He emphasized that education remains a cornerstone for nation-building and called on beneficiaries to make judicious use of the materials provided.
He further assured the public of his continued support for government policies and programs that aim to positively impact the lives of citizens, and urged stakeholders to support the administration for sustained progress.
Representing the Governor at the event, the Director-General of Strategic Communication and Events Management, Yakubu Lamai, described the gesture as timely and in line with the administration’s broader vision for educational reform. He commended the Special Assistant on Education for supporting the state government’s education agenda and encouraged him to continue his commendable work.
As part of the event, Governor Sule was honored with an Award of Excellence as an “Icon of Education Development” by the Office of the Special Assistant to the Governor on Education.
The award recognized his unwavering commitment and contributions to the growth of education in the state.
Dignitaries who graced the occasion included the State Commissioner for Education, Dr. John D.W. Mamman; Chairman of SUBEB, Dr. Kassim Muhammad Kassim; Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Mallam Mohammed Sani Bala; Provost, College of Education Akwanga, Dr. Danladi Ibrahim; the Osakpa of Akpanaja, HRH Alh. Musa Abari Agye; DG, Bureau of Rural Development, Engr. Muhammed Sidi Sani; guest speaker Dr. Amos Akoshi from Nasarawa State University, Keffi; and Mr. Aloko Williams, State ANCOPS Chairman, among others.
Highlight of the event was the symbolic presentation of the exercise books to students and pupils.
