BENIN CITY — In a proactive step to enhance sports development in tertiary institutions across Edo State, members of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Joint Campus Council (JCC), Edo State, paid a courtesy visit to the Executive Chairman of the Edo State Sports Commission, Hon. Amadin Desmond Enabulele, at the Commission’s media center on Monday.

During the engagement, Comrade Ojumoola Miracle, speaking on behalf of NANS (JCC), expressed gratitude for the achievements recorded by the commission under Hon. Enabulele’s leadership. “The visible transformations we have witnessed since your appointment are a testament to your unwavering passion and commitment to sports development,” he stated.

He proposed a partnership aimed at fostering sports within tertiary institutions and presented a blueprint for the planned inter-campus sports tournament.

Also speaking, a former Deputy President of NANS, Mr. Imafidon Imadeyogie Stephen, emphasized the uniqueness of the proposed blueprint and its potential to set a precedent in the region. He reaffirmed that sports, when properly harnessed, can serve as an antidote to cultism and other social vices.

Responding on behalf of the Executive Chairman, Mr. Kingsley Igie, Deputy Director of Personnel at the Edo State Sports Commission, appreciated the visit and assured the delegation of the commission’s support. “This initiative clearly aligns with the state government’s vision under His Excellency, Senator Monday Okpebholo, and his Deputy,” he noted.
