IT IS TIME FOR WIKE TO EMBRACE THE FACT THAT POWER IS TRANSIENT .By Sanco Ese

I believe that the greatest threat to Democracy and peaceful co-existence of the people of Rivers State today is the barbarity ,greed and lawlessness of Nyesom Wike , Honourable Minister of the FCT

This is a man who is absolutely obsessed with the quest for power and political validation and willing to do anything to stay at the top.

The bible says ”who art thou o man?” It goes on to answer it’s own question by saying ”thou art as the grass that withers. Thou art as the flower that fadeth. A man that is born of woman, that is today and that tomorrow is no more”. One would have thought that this divine assertion, more than any other, would have humbled those that play God and those that believe that their hold on power will last forever but clearly this is not so.

So sad that men in power hardly ever learn that such power is temporal and ephemeral. They are so obsessed with thier brief moment of glory and strength that they forget the Holy book Says , ”the kingdoms are as a drop of water in the ocean before Him” and that ”the earth is His footstool”. Nothing lasts and nothing can stand against the power of God or His counsel. He alone rules in the affairs of men and forges the destiny of nations. And woe unto him or her that sits in judgement against his fellow human being and that does so lightly without any recourse to decency and justice and without a healthy regard and respect for truth.

Every single vow and promise Nyesom Wike made while he was Governor of Rivers State has been violated , he swore he will never have a hand in who succeeds him , he swore he will never join or vote for APC ,he swore once he leaves as Governor he will never have anything to do with the Governance of Rivers State,. Today he has clearly and shamelessly defiled his vows and promises while also forgetting that he has virtually fought every single person that made him who he is today but one thing he forgot is that Karma is a Bicth. Again I ask ” Is this not his once Beloved Fubara”?

Wike must realise that it is God that giveth power and not man , the Bible says. ” who is he that sayest, a thing and it cometh to pass when the Lord God of hosts has not commanded it not ?” It says ” Who can charge before God’s elect ? Is it not Christ that Justifies?” What people think of others or call reputation means nothing before God

His actions against Fubara reminds me just how fickle men and women can be when it comes to loving someone one minute and hating them the next minute and vice versa

Finally , the scenario playing out between Nyesom Wike and Sim Fubara reminds me of Shakespeare’s “Julius Caesar” let us consider the behaviour of the Roman mob after they heard Mark Anthony’s great and passionate speech. Initially they were with Brutus and the murderers of Caesar and they gave them all their hearts. Yet ten minutes later after Mark Anthony’s passionate and moving words were unleashed on them and after he stirred up the fond memories of the great Caesar and reminded them of his kindness, love, compassion and generosity, that same mob set on Brutus, Cassius and the other kingslayers and were ready to burn them alive. So fickle is man and so shallow and predictable are his ways. He is, like the biblical Reuben, ”as unstable as water”.

Today belong to Nyesom Wike, tomorrow belongs to Sim Fubara , Man is not and can never be God . Let Fubara breath.
