On April 2nd, 2025, the Imo State Government, led by Governor Hope Uzodimma, announced a decisive ban on all task force operations within the state.

This move aims to curb the disruptive activities of task forces, which have been criticized for causing public nuisance, inconvenience and tarnishing the government’s reputation.

The announcement, signed by I.A. Oguzie for the Secretary to the Government of Imo State, warns that any individual or group operating as a task force will face strict legal consequences.

Security operatives have been directed to enforce this ban and apprehend violators.

Residents of Imo State are urged to comply with this directive and report any unauthorized task force activities to the authorities.

This policy reflects the government’s commitment to maintaining order and protecting the interests of its citizens as the wellbeing of the citizens remains a top priority for the government.
