Edison Ehie, Ihunwo, Oko Jumbo and Ankio Briggs Deceived Governor Fubara – Wike
By Our Reporter
Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, on Saturday accused four close associates of Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara of systematically deceiving the governor and deepening the political crisis in the state.
Wike made the statement during a media chat in Port Harcourt, where he named Edison Ehie, Chijioke Ihunwo, Victor Oko Jumbo and activist Ankio Briggs as the key figures he said had misled Fubara on critical political decisions.
According to the minister, the four individuals repeatedly gave the governor wrong counsel, particularly after peace agreements brokered by President Bola Tinubu. Wike claimed their advice caused Fubara to abandon earlier understandings reached with stakeholders, prolonging the feud that has rocked Rivers State since 2023.
The FCT minister specifically singled out Ankio Briggs, stating that he had watched her several times on television advising Governor Fubara to form his own political group. Wike described such counsel as part of the misleading guidance that further strained relations and complicated efforts at reconciliation.
