DOES THE NIGERIAN SUPER EAGLES HAVE THE FUNDS THEY NEEDED TO CONTINUE THEIR QUARTER FINALS AGAINST ALGERIA?
By Prof. Sunday Enubuzor, Ph. D.The Nigeria Super Eagles are facing a bit of a crisis off the field. Despite their impressive 4-0 win over Mozambique, players are threatening to boycott training and the quarter-final match against Algeria due to unpaid bonuses. The Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) claims the funds are being processed by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and will be paid soon. It’s unclear if the issue will be resolved before Saturday’s match, but the NFF is hopeful that the players will focus on the game. The Super Eagles have been performing well, winning all their matches so far, and are looking strong against Algeria.Let’s hope the situation gets sorted out quickly so the team can focus on their quarter-final clash!
