The President General of Asaba Ase Community in Ndokwa East Local Government Area Chief Anagbogu Nosike Godfrey has been commended by Delta State government for averting what would have been a fatal and bloody clash between suspected illegal bunckerers and men of Nigerian Army. The commendation was contained in a letter dated July 17 2024 , with Ref. No. 18/T12/51, which originated from the office of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) Dr. Kingsley Emu.
In the letter, the state government recalled that the active roles played by the President General showed his peaceful and tactical dispositions in handling the affairs of the community. Dr. Emu explained further that the situation would have engulfed the community, adding that Chief Anagbogu saved it from going into extinction “This singular action amongst others, is well recognized by the state government and has singled you out as an astute community leader” the SSG noted, informing him of the state government’s resolve to cooperate with him in fostering peace, security and harmonous co-existence among the people
During an interaction with our reporter, the Asaba Ase President General expressed joy and appreciation to the State Government for recognizing his committement to the peace and security agenda of the state government. He stated that the people of the community were appreciative to the Governor Oborevwori for approving and mobilizing to site for construction of a bridge across a failed portion of the only gate way road leading to the community.
While accepting the state government’s commendation, the PG requested that he should be recommended to be empowered through employment, appointment or other forms of incentive in order to motivate more efforts and committement to the. state governmwnt’s policies and programmes.
