Mazi Sunday Chibuzor Okereke, a distinguished Legislative Governance Expert, Public Affairs Analyst, and Founder of Project Hope Alive Africa, has been honoured with the prestigious title of “Ikemba Aro” by His Eminence, Eze Dr. Eberechukwu Oji, the Eze Aro of Arochukwu Kingdom. The conferment was a highlight of the annual Aro Day and Awards Festival, held at the Arochukwu Civic Centre.

The ceremony, a vibrant celebration of the rich cultural heritage of the Aro people, was presided over by Mazi (Engr.) Goddy Ijeomah, Chairman of the Occasion, who conferred the title on behalf of the Eze Aro and the Nzuko Aro Leadership.

Mazi Okereke was recognised for his outstanding contributions to the development of Arochukwu Kingdom, his tireless advocacy for youth empowerment, and his unwavering commitment to promoting Aro cultural values, including integrity, honesty, hard work, and diligence. His intellectual efforts in projecting a positive image of the Aro people and preserving their cultural heritage earned him this revered title.

Speaking after receiving the honour, Mazi Okereke expressed gratitude to the Aro Kingdom, pledging to continue his efforts in advancing the development and unity of the community.

The Aro Day and Awards Festival is an annual event celebrating the achievements of the Aro people and showcasing their rich traditions. The title of “Ikemba Aro,” one of the highest honours in the kingdom, is reserved for individuals whose contributions significantly impact the Aro community and its cultural preservation.
