A Call to Action: Secure FCT Abuja Now!
The South-South Community, FCT Abuja, is sounding the alarm on a disturbing trend of robbery cases involving fake taxi operators in the nation’s capital. These brazen criminals are posing as legitimate transport providers, targeting innocent passengers and stealing their valuables, including cash, phones, and more. In some cases, victims are even being thrown out of moving vehicles, putting their lives at risk.
Amb. Dickson Omoregie, President of the South-South Community, FCT Abuja, and Executive Director of the Institute for Cultural Diplomacy (ICD) Nigeria, is urging the authorities to take immediate action. “The protection of lives and property is the primary responsibility of government,” he emphasizes. “We cannot allow these criminals to continue terrorizing our citizens while we focus on electoral activities. Only those who are alive can participate in elections.”
The community is calling on:
- Honourable Minister of FCT: Please intervene and prioritize citizen safety
- Inspector General of Police: Swiftly apprehend and prosecute these perpetrators
- FCT Authorities: Strengthen security measures to prevent further incidents
It’s time for collective action to restore safety and public confidence in FCT Abuja. Let’s work together to make our capital a secure place for all.
