Former Zamfara Governor Donates N280m At Book Launch

Senator Abdulaziz Abubakar Yari (Marafan Sokoto) representing Zamfara West Senatorial District has launched a book titled “Kingdom in Crisis: Kabi In the Nineteen Century” authored by the late Muhammad Bello Alkali (Danmasanin Kabi) with the sum of N280 million.

     The launch held on Saturday at the Emir of Argungu Palace in Kebbi State attracted eminent personalities from Kebbi State and across the country.

      Senator Yari who bought 20 copies of the book for himself at N150 million, announced the purchase of another set of copies for his associates and colleagues at N130 million totalling N280 million.

      He promised to read the book carefully at his leisure time and comeback to the emirate for observation or additional information regarding the book.

      Kebbi State governor, Dr Nasir Idris, during his speech paid glowing tribute to the author of the book, who was an illustrious son of Argungu Emirate.

      Idris described the late Alkali as a patriotic scholar whose intellectual legacy would continue to enrich the understanding of Kabi’s history, identity and resilience for the next generations.

     He commended the Emir of Argungu, Sama’ila Muhammed Mera for ensuring the compilation of the book, hosting the historic launch for the benefit of Argungu people, Kebbi State and the country as whole.

      The governor launched the book with N40 million for himself, and governors of Sokoto and Zamfara states.
