GOVERNOR UZODIMMA’S 13TH MONTH RITUAL
Every year since he took over the wheels of governance in 2020, His Excellency Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, CON, has always made sure that no Imo worker; civil servants, teachers, appointees of government and indeed, everyone, who works for the State government, at any level, goes home without some smiles.
In keeping with the spirit of Christmas, which is about love and sacrifice, the governor, a devout Christian and Marian adherent, makes it a point of duty to ensure that every worker gets something extra to celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ with their friends and family members. For everyone, there is definitely a “change of soup”.
The idea is not just for these workers to enjoy themselves, but to have something extra, to be able to share with those around them. In essence, the governor is not just giving Christmas largesse or bonuses to those who work for the State government, but to every Imolite, because when each worker extends some gifts to those around him or her, the Christmas largesse has definitely reached everyone.
There has always been a joyful Christmas and New year celebration in Imo State since 2020, but this year’s own is exceptionally entertaining, because, apart from enjoying the highest salary of any worker in Nigeria, the governor also doubled the salary of everyone for this month of December. Unlike other workers, Imo workers shall have a mild January, without experiencing the usual stress and strains associated with the first month of the year.
While embarking on unprecedented infrastructural restructuring of Imo State, expanding development and prosperity to the hinterlands through his massive rural development initiatives, the governor adds something extra that ensures that every home in Imo is happy and every mouth is oily, this Yuletide, for that, every Imolite celebrates our governor and thanks God for the gift of him, as our governor.
