South-South Community passes vote of confidence on Pastor Umo Eno

The South-South Community in Abuja, led by President Amb. Dickson Omorejie, has passed a vote of confidence on Governor Pastor Umo Bassey Eno of Akwa Ibom State, commending his visionary leadership and landmark achievements.

The people made the declaration during a courtesy visit to the Special Assistant to Governor Eno on Mobilization at his office in Abuja 12th August 2025.

Ambassador Omoregie lauded the Governor’s remarkable accomplishments, noting they were evident to all and expressed hope that other governors in the South-South zone would follow Governor Eno’s example to transform the region into a thriving society.

He reaffirmed the Association’s willingness to partner with the Akwa Ibom State government and other leaders to drive balanced development and progress for the South-South region.

The leaders prayed for God’s continued guidance and wisdom for Governor Eno as he continues to lead the state.

The South-South community pointed out the importance of preparing for the upcoming national census,the need for full participation and urged the state government to intensify registration awareness campaigns and mobilize indigenes in the FCT to the state for proper headcount as it will help inform national planning and resource allocation to the south south zones.

Omorejie called on South South leaders to work together in synergy to promote unity, create opportunities for collaboration, and improve inclusivity in governance for the development of the region and the greater .

Other stakeholders in the delegation stressed the need for a strong, collective voice to drive development and progress for the South South region.They also commended the past governors of Akwa Ibom State for changing the narratives, praising Architect Victor Attah’s fight for resource control and the current governor’s continuity in governance, which has propelled Akwa Ibom forward.

Responding,,the special Assistant to the Governor on Mobilization,Comrade Kingsley Iwok expressed gratitude to the leadership of the South South Community in Abuja for recognizing the exemplary leadership of Governor Umo Eno.

He cited numerous awards and accolades His Excellency has received, including the Best Performing Governor in Nigeria award from the Nigerian Governors’ Forum, Leadership Newspaper, and Arise TV.

Iwok noted that the Governor’s administration is guided by the ARISE Agenda, which has driven progress and development in the state and further highlighted the significant contribution of the South South region to Nigeria’s economy, noting that the region is the resource base that generates the greater part of the country’s revenue.

Comrade Iwok appealed to the South South people to continue to work together in pursuit of progress and development of the region while assuring them of the government ‘s support.
