The Executive Chairman of Ukwuani Local Government, Hon. (Barr.) C.S Possible Ajede, in pursuance of his administration’s Environmental Conservation Initiative and Ukwuani beautification goals, has inaugurated the Ukwuani Road Marshalls with a charge to keep Ukwuani clean.

In his remarks, he called on the newly inaugurated road marshalls, drawn from the 10 wards, to ensure that roads across Ukwuani communities are kept clean and free from dirt and refuse by sweeping them regularly.
Barr. Ajede also approved the first payment of โฆ20,000 each to the road marshalls numbering over 100 as their first salary.
The Ukwuani Council Chairman commended the Ukwuani Beautification Committee for helping to keep major junctions and streets across the LGA open, safe and clean for residents.
He however acknowledged that the beautification exercise had affected some businesses whose structures were pulled down. He therefore assured affected shop owners that the beautification committee would profile them and that the council would consider some form of compensation.
In their response, the road marshalls expressed gratitude to Ukwuani Capacity Chairman for initiating the sweeping of road shoulders along tarred roads across the LGA, describing it as a noble initiative.
The women pledged to be diligent and committed to their mandate and assured the chairman that they would not let him down.
