A former rector of Waziri Umaru Federal Polytechnic, Birnin Kebbi, Dr Usman Tunga, has joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) and declared his intention to contest the House of Representatives seat for Birnin Kebbi/Kalgo/Bunza Federal Constituency.

Tunga said he joined politics to contribute to the development of the constituency.

“Having completed my academic career, I have decided to join my friend, Governor Nasir Idris, to develop Kebbi State,” he said.

He pledged to abide by the party’s constitution and carry all stakeholders along if elected.

The APC State Chairman, Mohammed Abubakar Kana Zuru, welcomed him and assured him of the party’s support.

He, however, advised him to learn the ropes of politics and follow the leadership style of Governor Idris.
