Senator Diket Plang, representing Plateau Central Senatorial District and chairman of the Senate Committee on Labour, Employment and Productivity, has congratulated Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda on his election as national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the party’s fourth national convention held at Eagle Square.

Senator Plang described the development as a historic milestone for Nigeria’s democracy, noting that Nentawe’s emergence signals the APC’s deepening commitment to unity, merit and democratic consolidation. He emphasised that, at a time when the nation seeks stability and direction, the new leadership reflects the vibrancy of progressive ideals and the party’s responsiveness to Nigerians’ aspirations.

For Plateau State, and particularly the Plateau Central Senatorial District, the senator highlighted the special significance of this achievement.

He said Nentawe’s rise represents not only personal accomplishment but also recognition of Plateau’s enduring contributions to national development. He praised the new Chairman as a leader who bridges intellect with grassroots connection, embodying both competence and compassion.

Recalling their shared formative years at Boys Secondary School Gindiri, Senator Plang expressed confidence in Nentawe’s ability to lead, citing his discipline, clarity of purpose and commitment to service as qualities that have defined his career.

The senator also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, APC governors, National Assembly members and delegates for ensuring a smooth and credible convention, describing the outcome as a testament to the party’s shared purpose and disciplined coordination.

Looking ahead, Senator Plang urged APC members and supporters nationwide to unite behind the new chairman. He stressed that the challenges ahead demand collective commitment, renewed energy, and steadfast belief in the party’s vision for national transformation. With Prof.  Yilwatda at the helm, he expressed confidence that the APC will continue to strengthen its role as a leading platform for progress, stability, and inclusive development in Nigeria.
