The People’s Democratic Party PDP has accused the speaker of the House of Representatives Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila over his alleged act of shutting down committees that are investigating corruption charges in the house. The party went on to state that such incursions into the activities of the house is to quench the fight against corruption, which they claim, the APC have not been able to fight.
The party started further that investigations into the homogenous corruption in government agencies, including the NDDC (Niger Delta Development Commission), the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund, the N300billion unremitted revenue to the Federation account as well as allegations of corruption in government earning and the expenditure in ministries, Departments and agencies.
The party (PDP) thereafter declared that if the honourable speaker is inclined towards allowing the covering of corruption against the purpose for which he was elected to lead the house, then he should take a bow and step aside….
