IT was a successful end of year meeting of the Ward 5 Oshimili South family as they gathered yesterday, Sunday 8, 2024 at their Party Secretariat, Asaba.
The leader of the Ward, Hon Taju Isichei aka Ikuku affirmed that 20 person’s were carefully selected by the Leaders of the Ward. These 20 persons are to benefit the empowerment of the Council Chairman, High Chief Obi Kelvin Ezenyili for empowerment for the year 2024.
Based on the celebration season and to reach out to more person’s, he informed ward members that few months ago it was the decision of the Leaders of the Ward to set aside ten percent of their kola support during their monthly meetings and the said money has amounted to a total of two hundred and thirty thousand naira which will also be used to empower members of the Ward as well and that the Leaders of the Ward would not partake of it.
While speaking, Hon Taju in the spirit of happiness donated five hundred thousand naira while Nnamdi Odiwe supported him with the sum of two hundred thousand and the two counsellors Hon Chuka and Hon Eromosele both supported the empowerment with one hundred thousand naira only. The total sum will be added to empower a total of 80 persons as the Vice Chairman was asked to add more names to the names earlier written.
This is the first of it’s kind in history in the Ward as stated by many old women who danced and sang to chant praises on Hon Taju. The meeting was a successful convocation of massive empowerment as members by it Leaders for colorful Christmas celebration.
