Okpella NYSC Members Hail DANCO Over Corpers’ Lodge,
•• Say Facility Ends Accommodation Struggle for Corpers
NYSC members serving in Okpella Community, Etsako East Local Government Area of Edo State, on Wednesday stormed the country home of the member representing Etsako Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Anamero Dekeri DANCO, to express their heartfelt appreciation for the construction of a corpers’ lodge in the community.
The corps members, accompanied by their Community Development Service (CDS) coordinator, said the gesture had ended the long-standing struggle of newly deployed corps members in securing accommodation upon arrival in Okpella after the orientation camp.
According to them, the challenge of finding a safe and affordable place to stay in the community had often been unbearable, especially for fresh deployees who usually arrive with limited time, resources, and no prior contacts in the host community. They described the new lodge as timely, thoughtful, and highly impactful.
The CLO Mr. Obiora Victor, said apart from providing them with shelter, the facility will also removed the stress of moving from one location to another in search of accommodation, thereby allowing them to settle quickly and focus on their primary assignment and community service
Miss Ogunade Aisha, Oyaleye Felicia and Oyebaniji Joshua who also spoke, commended Hon. DANCO for what they described as a rare demonstration of commitment to youth welfare and grassroots development, noting that the corpers’ lodge would contribute significantly to their safety, comfort, and productivity during their service year both for them and for future Corpers.
On his part, the member Representing Etsako Federal Constituency who was speechless at the sudden appreciative visitation, assured them of more support saying the furniture for the various apartments and the security gate and other security measures will all be completed in no distance time. “I am here to serve and I will continue to serve human interest he assured.”
