In a continued effort to enhance governance, strengthen peace and security in Ndokwa West Local Government Area, a crucial meeting was convened with youth presidents and key stakeholders from all 33 communities within the Local Government.

The meeting being a follow up of the various meetings held with various clan youth presidents in the LGA was presided over by the vice chairman, Hon. Margaret Chinwe Anowu and the Secretary to the Local Government (SLG), Chief Sunday Enu with all council supervisors in attendance is targeted at fostering cooperation and ensure a united front in addressing security challenges was well attended by relevant council stakeholders.

One of the key outcomes of the meeting was the call for all community youth presidents to work in close collaboration with the council leadership to establish an effective and unified security framework. Discussions also centered on the need for entire community youth presidents to unanimously produce a central executive having a President General—a central figure to pilot and oversee affairs of the youths across all 33 communities thereby promoting order, coordination, and effective communication between the council and the communities.

In a gesture of support and encouragement, the MD/CEO of DESOPADEC, Chief F. M. Ochonogor presented a handsome cash gift which was shared among the 33 community youth presidents. This support underscores the council’s commitment to promoting peace and stability in the Ndokwa west LGA.

The meeting concluded with a unanimous vote of confidence on the Deputy Governor, His Excellency Sir Monday Onyeme, DESOPADEC MD, Chief F. M. Ochonogor, the Executive Chairman of Ndokwa west local government, Hon. Chief (Dr.) Goddey Obi Nzete and the entire administrative team. The council leadership was also commended for its proactive approach to security, community development, and youth engagement.

This peace initiative reflects Chief Obi Nzete’s enduring commitment to fostering unity and ensuring the safety and well-being of Ndokwa West residents. The council’s continued support for community-driven solutions underscores its resolve to promote development, peace, and progress in the local government area.
