Yesterday, Umute Kingdom stood still in celebration as the Executive Chairman of Ndokwa West Local Government, Hon. Chief (Dr.) Goddey Obi Nzete, and his beloved wife, Triple Chief Mrs. Esther Adauwaoma Nzete, were honoured with distinguished chieftaincy titles. The Chairman was conferred with the revered title “Ijele 1 of Umute Kingdom,” while his wife received the honourable title “Ochubadikeoffia 1 of Umute Kingdom”—a resounding acknowledgment of their leadership, service, and enduring impact on the people.

The ceremony, which coincided with the birthday of Triple Chief Mrs. Esther Adauwaoma Nzete, was nothing short of majestic. In a heartwarming moment during the celebration, she gracefully received a large, beautifully drawn art portrait from the Obi Nzete Media Team—an expression of admiration and love for a woman whose poise, strength, and kindness continue to inspire many.

The event itself was grand and carnival-like, filled with music, dance, and rich cultural expressions. It became a festival of honour and unity, as people from all walks of life came together to celebrate this remarkable couple. It was a colourful show of affection and solidarity from the people of Umute and beyond.
Gracing the occasion was the Governor of Delta State, His Excellency Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oberevwori, ably represented by his Deputy, His Excellency Sir Monday Onyeme, who joined the people of Umute in celebrating this significant moment.

Also present were Rt. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu, MD/CEO of DESOPADEC, Chief Festus Ochonogor, Member representing Ndokwa West Constituency at the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Charles Emetulu, and Chairmen of sister local governments across the state including Hon. Pastor Jude Chukwunwike (Aniocha South), Hon. Chief Vincent Osilonya (Ndokwa East), Hon. Barr. Possible Ajede (Ukwuani) and Hon. Engr. Jerry Ehiwario (Ika South) among others.

The Delta State PDP Deputy Chairman, Hon. Elder Moses Iduh, Secretary to Delta state Security trust fund, Barr. Sam Osasa and the Delta North PDP Chairman, Engr. Dan Ossai, were also among the dignitaries in attendance.

The outpouring of love, presence of dignitaries, and traditional honours all came together to make the day unforgettable. The titles bestowed are more than ceremonial—they are a powerful testament to lives devoted to service, humility, compassion, and unyielding dedication to the people.
