The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ndokwa West Local Government Area has inaugurated the College of Youths, a structured initiative aimed at grooming young leaders for future political representation. The event, which had key party leaders in attendance, underscored the importance of youth participation in sustaining the party’s strength and continuity.



In his welcome address, the Executive Chairman of Ndokwa West LGA, Hon. Chief (Dr.) Goddey Obi Nzete, reaffirmed the commitment of party leaders to supporting the youths’ growth course. However, he emphasized that such support is tied to dedication and hard work targeted at yielding desired results, stating: “No commitment, no support.”
He also affirmed that the leader of the party in the LGA in the person of the Deputy Governor of the state, His Excellency Sir Monday Onyeme has repeatedly expressed his sincere desires towards the growth and development of youths within the party.
The LGA coordinator of the college of youths who doubles as the PDP LGA youth leader, Comr. Ifeanyi Eze also lent his voice in support of the council chairman’s position. He added that the idea which birthed the activity of the day was to encourage more youthful engagements in the party for more positive impact.
The state coordinator of the college of Youths, Hon. Asiwe Emeke who expressed satisfaction with the level of coordination in Ndokwa west LGA and admonished the newly inaugurated youth body to be intentional about the responsibility being saddled on them. He pleaded with the leaders to take serious, the teaching and learning processes as it concerns grooming the party’s future leaders.

During the event, Hon. Charles Chukwuemeke Emetulu emphasized the importance of perseverance, urging youths to remain steadfast regardless of immediate outcomes. He advised them to remain committed, whether success comes instantly or over time.
The DESOPADEC MD, Chief Festus M. Ochonogor highlighted that the initiative was termed “College of Youths” because it serves as a training ground for future leaders within the party. He encouraged participants to complete the process diligently to gain recognition and leadership opportunities.
The Delta North PDP Chairman, Engnr. Chief Dan Ossai reiterated that a political party without active youth participation cannot thrive. He therefore called on the youths of Ndokwa West to engage actively in PDP affairs to ensure the party remained in power in the locality.
While giving vote of thanks, the LGA PDP Chairman, Chief
Anselm Nzete assured the state leadership of the college of youths of a good working synergy between the leaders of the party and the youths even as he bid them safe trip back to their various destinations.
The party in the LGA unanimously passed a vote of confidence on its Delta North Leader, in the person of His Excellency the immediate past Governor of Delta state, Sen. Ifeanyi Okowa for his Sagacious approach to his leadership responsibilities in the senatorial district.
The inauguration of the College of Youths which was graced by various political stakeholders, marked a strategic step by the PDP in Ndokwa West towards fostering political engagement and leadership development among young people.
