N125bn, not enough for NASC budget NASC boss

The chairman of the National Assembly Service Commission NASC, Engr. Ahmed Kadi Amshi has called for an increase in the annual budget of the national Assembly from the current sum of N125bn.
Engr. Amshi while playing host to the chairman of the Benue State House of Assembly Commission Dr. Sylvester Atachin and other officers who visited the commission at Abuja said that the historic visit was to discuss with the federal establishment on issues that can benefit the state Assembly commission.
Atachin said that the commission which was inaugurated on the 6th day of June 2020 is a relatively new institution in the nation’s democratic history. He equally stressed the need for the separation of the commission’s activities from the executive arm of government saying that the parliament everywhere in the world is independent and not under the control of the executive in issues bordering on recruitment and management of its staff and same should apply in the state Assemblies.
