Ibrahim Addra is a Passionate Multi-Media Specialist, accomplished broadcaster, actor, and communications expert with over 27 years of experience in television, radio, and online journalism. Known for his professionalism and versatility, he has covered some of Nigeria’s most important stories, including reporting from the Presidential Villa, Abuja, for Gotel TV and Channels Television.
Throughout his career, Ibrahim has worked as an anchor, producer, and presenter for several leading media organizations. These include Radio Nigeria in Kaduna, Plateau Radio Television Corporation (PRTVC) in Jos, Bauchi Radio Corporation II FM, and Nasarawa Broadcasting Service (NBS) Lafia, where he was part of the pioneer team. His journey also took him to the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN), the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), and Channels Television, all in Abuja.
A familiar and trusted voice, Ibrahim was a regular on flagship news programs for Radio Nigeria, NTA Network, and Channels Television. Beyond news, he contributed to development-focused projects, co-producing the Radio Interactive Series for LEAP/USAID and Compass/USAID between 2003 and 2005. As an actor, he brought stories to life in productions like Wetin Dey and Gatanan gata-Nanku (the Hausa version of the BBC World Service Trust’s Story-Story).
Ibrahim’s talents go beyond the microphone and camera. He is a skilled scriptwriter, translator, compere, and media trainer, earning several awards for leadership and excellence. A proud alumnus of the U.S. International Visitors Leadership Programme (IVLP) and the Radio Netherlands Training Centre (RNTC), he also serves as a Peace Ambassador and an INEC Youth Ambassador.
He is deeply rooted in leadership and advocacy, having served as a one-time Chairman of RATTAWU (Radio, Television, Theatre, and Arts Workers’ Union), NBS Chapter. During his academic years, he held the positions of Secretary General and President of the Mechanical Engineering Students’ Association at the Federal Polytechnic, Bauchi.
Ibrahim’s personal attributes set him apart as an inspiring leader and professional. He is widely recognized for his honesty, hard work, and passion for excellence. A natural team player, he thrives in collaborative environments, consistently fostering unity and innovation among colleagues and stakeholders. His dedication to integrity and excellence underpins his impactful career and public service roles.
In public service, Ibrahim has served as Director of Media and Publicity to the Executive Governor of Nasarawa State from 2009 to 2011. Since 2020, he has held the position of Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, where he continues to play a key role in shaping public communication.
Academically, Ibrahim’s foundation is in Mass Communication, with a Diploma from the Isa Mustapha Agwai Polytechnic (IMAP), Lafia, a B.Sc., and a Master’s degree in the field specializing in Public Relations. He also holds an HND in Mechanical Engineering and certifications in Basic Presentation and Online Journalism.
He is a Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Social Media Analysts (NISMA), an Associate Member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) and the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON), as well as a member of the International Press Institute (IPI).
Over the years, Ibrahim’s work has taken him to many parts of the world, including the United States, United Kingdom, Netherlands, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, India, Japan, Ethiopia, Burkina Faso, Ghana, and Benin Republic.
Whether telling stories, mentoring others, or driving change through media and public service, Ibrahim Addra remains committed to excellence, integrity, and making a meaningful impact in every role he takes on.
