The Executive Chairman of the Edo State Sports Commission, Hon. Amadin Desmond Enabulele, today concluded the burial activities for his late father, Pa Reuben Imafidon Eguagie, with a heartfelt thanksgiving service held at the Redeemed Church of God, Christ the King Parish, in Benin City.

The event was attended by board members and staff of the Edo State Sports Commission, who joined Hon. Enabulele in giving thanks to God for a successful burial ceremony. It was truly a celebration of the life of an icon—beloved father, caring grandfather, dependable brother, and loving uncle. Pa Reuben Imafidon Eguagie was born in 1941 and passed away at the age of 83.

The funeral activities began on Thursday, February 20, 2025, with a grand procession from the Military Base Hospital on Airport Road, Benin City, to his residence. Later that same day, a service of songs commenced at 4 PM, followed by a social dance and reception held at the Deedee Event Centre along Sapele Road on Saturday, February 22, 2025.

In honor of the late Mr. Reuben Imafidon Eguagie, notable personalities present at the reception, includes Edo State Deputy Governor Rt. Hon. Dennis Idahosa, his wife Mrs. Casmir Idahosa, APC Leader Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, and Eghogho Okpebholo, daughter of the governor, EDHA members, amongst others. They came together to celebrate with Hon. Amadin Desmond Enabulele, recognizing the fulfilled life his father lived.

Pa Reuben Imafidon Eguagie was survived by seven children and many grandchildren.

The thanksgiving service served as a fitting tribute to a life well-lived, surrounded by family, friends, and esteemed associates.
